Welcome to Mentor-Power

Mentor Power™ is a new concept designed to help small businesses across the world develop by providing a system for mentoring, learning, problem solving and referrals that is both effective and produces results. Mentor Power™ is not about the normal type of mentoring that happen in big companies.  It is all about understanding the individual issues faced by nearly all small businesses in solving problems, growing their business, dealing with the risks, ill health, exit strategies, lack of finance, tight budgets, business growth and much, much more. We recognise that the strength of the concept is in the principle that none of us know it all, and therefore many minds make for success.

Today most businesses understand that they cannot compete with their bigger competitors when it comes to marketing and advertising. The real costs of this process are proportionally so high that most small businesses simply cannot justify the expense. As a result they put more effort into networking with other small businesses and getting their names into the market place. However, many of these business owners have been disappointed with the outcome of their networking activity.  This is not really that surprising as most small businesses are out networking when they need new business and are not in the market for buying as they have little cash to spare. When they have plenty of business, sadly they are often too busy to spend time networking for the future.

We believe the time has come to take networking to a new level, that of building REAL relationships with other local business people, that of SHARING experience, knowledge and know-how, that of REFERRING potential customers on the basis that we actually know and really do understand what the person we are referring does and how good they are at what they do! This cannot be done with any success unless we all really understand what each of us does and how we all think and operate.

With millions of small businesses across the world all competing in identical markets, gaining the ability to stand out above the others by even a small amount will ensure that that business is seen.  This gives the business a huge advantage, an advantage that we all should understand and should strive to obtain.

The Mentor Power™ System is such a tool to enable your business to stand out above others.

The basic principle is simply this. A local group of businesses get together for a period of time as a team to improve and grow the businesses of each of the team’s members. This is achieved, under guidance, because the combined knowledge, skills, talents and experience of all the members makes up for the lack of those qualities that we all face.

The Mentor Power™ System is based around a small team of local business people, who are not in competition with each other who formally agree to work together in a MENTOR TEAM for a whole year to help each other develop their businesses.  This involves all of the team members meeting together each week for an agreed period of time, at one of the member’s place of work, to focus on and help each other move all the businesses forward. This is achieved using the Mentor Power™ System.

It has been said that there is no “I” in TEAM.  We disagree!  We believe that an effective team is one that is full of “I’s”, each one with their own strengths, talents, skills, knowledge and experiences who have chosen to work together as a TEAM for the benefit of all. If we all had the same qualities and skills there would be no point helping each other. We must recognise and accept that we do NOT know it all!

Each TEAM consists of a fixed number of eight MEMBERS, one of whom is the Team Mentor who will guide the team to through the process and hopefully to success. To ensure that a proper structure exists to support the Team Mentor a number of local teams will be formed under the guidance of a Group Mentor. There is a planned interaction between all the teams in the group during the life of the group, including visits to and from other teams, participation in a strategic business game and the opportunity to give and receive referrals.

Team Mentors meet and work with their Group Mentor to sort out issues and problems that are being encountered by individual members and to ensure that the mentoring process is producing real value for everyone.

Each Group Mentor will operate a number of groups. Group Mentors will receive a proportion of the income for managing, recruiting and assisting all the Team Mentors within the groups they manage.

What’s in it for Me?

If you are a member of a team, then you will pay a reasonable annual fee to belong and benefit from the whole program which is designed to help you increase your level of success.  We expect you to see an increase in your business and your profitability many (many) times that of the annual fee. It is this increase in profitability that will encourage you to remain on the program. More importantly it will give you an edge over your competition resulting in a larger market share.

Because of the way that teams are constructed, i.e. members work with different teams each year - remaining on the program for subsequent years will continue to give great benefit and provide an increasing number of members who get to know you well, advocate for you and also use the services or products you provide. Continual membership also has the benefit that you are always kept up to date with the latest technology and methods for doing things. Opportunities to collaborate with other members will continue to appear. Because of the building a real relationships and the trust that results, team members will more likely select other team members to carry out work for them rather than bring in outside resources. A very powerful and strong reason to remain a member. 

Once you have been a team member for a whole year, you can then carry out some additional free training with Mentor Power and become a Team Mentor, which gives you an additional year on the program free of charge and the advantages that provides. This will cost you nothing other than your time, but opens the way for you to progress to a Group Mentor or you can continue as a Team Mentor for future years at no cost.

To ensure that the concept grows and everyone benefits from a large active membership Team Mentors can become Group Mentors and start and promote their own groups. We feel that a Group Mentor should be able to operate four groups very comfortably which would earn them an income of around £47,000 per annum plus around £10,000 expenses. For those who have a desire to work really hard, then they can add one or more extra groups increasing their income pro-rata. There is a small one off fee (expected to be £250) to becoming a Group Mentor plus the commitment of time and the completion the necessary training. This is a great business opportunity for individuals who are good are organisation and love motivating and encouraging people.

We also have a need to develop groups into regions.  Regional Mentors will purchase a regional franchise which will give then control over a specific region. Regions will always be large enough to support at a minimum six groups but up to ten or more for those who want to be very active. Each Regional Mentor will work closely with all the Group Mentors and Team Mentors in their areas.

A Regional Mentor looking after six groups on average will earn over £70,000 per annum plus around £20,000 for expenses. The cost of a Regional Franchise will be minimal (currently projected to be a one off fee of around £2,500) and is set at a level so as to encourage serious people to take them up but not to put off those who are able and willing. All of the franchise fees received for Regional Leaders goes to the Country Leader to support their recruitment drive.

To promote the idea throughout a country we also have opportunities for Country Mentors. These are individuals who really understand the opportunity and wish to take on what is effectively a franchise for the country they live in. Country Mentors purchase a franchise (currently projected to be a one off fee of around £5,000) for a small fee and with a target of eight Regional groups active will earn an income exceeding £100,000 per annum plus £40,000 for expenses. The potential to earn a top income is available here. The entire franchise fee goes to the Mentor Power recruitment program for getting further countries up and running.

This clearly shows that an average increase anywhere will increase the income, but the important one is the number of groups that a Group Mentor looks after.

Mentor Power is not in the business of making money out of selling franchises, but rather to create a successful business model to help small businesses across the world. Franchises once taken up are renewable each year for a token registration fee (currently projected to be around £250) as long as the franchise holder has achieved the agreed targets. Income from franchise sales is totally used to grow the business worldwide. The Mentor Power Partnership earns its income by taking a small percentage of the annual member’s fee. There are no other income streams and therefore success at growing the membership is essential. We firmly believe that the only sound and proper way to do this successfully is by providing a service that really works and is of high value to the membership.

Initially it is expected that a number of franchises will be made available at no cost whilst the program is in its launch phase. It should be noted that the main benefit of the Mentor Power™ System is the results it brings to the membership. Taking on a role as a Team, Group, Regional or Country Mentor is a role in itself and is naturally subject to demand.
